Earlier this week, one of the biggest crypto exchanges in the United States, Coinbase added support for Litecoin in the online wallet. Now, the exchange has claimed that, after making this decision, this is a great step forward for them becoming the leading cryptocurrency on the market. The Coinbase Wallet now accepts users to directly store Litecoin on the app. With this, the fifth biggest cryptocurrency joins Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic and Bitcoin Cash for the list of supported cryptocurrencies. In the blog post that announced the Coinbase news, users will be able to download an update with Litecoin support in a few weeks on the App Store or Google Play Store respectively. The support for Litecoin will be available to users straight away after the app is updated. All you will need to do is choose the ‘recieve’ option on the wallet app in order to deposit your LTC to the wallet. In terms of price, Litecoin is doing well on the day. The crypto has gone through a 1.20 percent increase over the past 24 hours leaving it with a price of $49.83 at the current time of writing. XRP So with the announcement of Litecoin support, many community members were left wondering where this leaves Ripple’s native token, XRP. The US-based exchange was getting attacked with questions from users asking Coinbase to add XRP on Twitter. One example is shown below: When XRP?#xrpthestandard — xrp_news ⚡ (@xrp_news) February 22, 2019 Although XRP was added to Coinbase Custody in November last year, no one should lose hope about the possibility that the crypto giant will eventually accept XRP and bring it into its wallet. In terms of price, XRP is performing well after the short-lived bull run earlier this week despite currently being in the red. The token is currently priced at $0.32 after experiencing a 0.42 percent decrease over the past day.
