The Coin Shark: The Grand Re-Opening of the Hacked Binance Is Followed by a Huge Giveaway

  • Thursday, 16 May 2019 12:30
As we reported earlier, the crypto exchange Binance was planning to activate all operation on the platform by May 15. It took the exchange around a week to somehow recover from the brutal hacker attack resulting in the loss of 40 million dollars and conduct all the necessary adjustments to make sure it never happens again. Trading and deposit options were “unfrozen” first, withdrawals followed shortly after. The CEO of Binance ChangPeng Zhao confirmed this in his latest tweet and also informed the community about the new withdrawal requirement. Withdrawals are open for most tokens, the balance will be open shortly. A new requirement to be logged in while confirming the withdrawal mail was added. It caused a small conflict while using the app so it will be rolled back shortly. — CZ Binance (@cz_binance) 15 мая 2019 г. Having upgraded the system and repaid all the victims of the hack from the insurance funds, Binance decided to reward its customers for going through inconveniences. The exchange organizes a jackpot in the amount of 50 thousand BNB tokens, which is around 1.26 million dollars. Any client who has more than 1 BTC worth of tokens on their account is eligible to enter. The giveaway will last from May 15 to May 18. Such a gesture of appreciation from Binance was beneficial for both parties, since the price of BNB tokens jumped up significantly right after the announcement of the abovementioned jackpot.
