Sweetbridge: Sweetbridge wins world’s first ‘Aviation Blockchain Challenge’ hosted by SAP and Lufthansa
Sweetbridge wins the ‘Traveller Challenge’ category as part of the world’s first ‘Aviation Blockchain Challenge’.Nine teams from three continents presented innovative blockchain solutions in the aviation context to a top jury of experts at Lufthansa’s Aviation Center for the final round. There, Sweetbridge was named one of three winners for the Traveller Challenge category from a total of 316 entrants from 56 countries. At the event, Scott Nelson presented a 5-minute pitch on how Sweetbridge can help “reinvent the traveller experience, airline operations and supply chain”. Our entry into the challenge has made it the first market-ready blockchain application, helping to transform the value chain of airlines. We are planning to do this through our rewards token, Sweetcoin, designed to make the traveller experience more efficient and convenient, benefiting both the customer and the business. Not long after all the companies had presented their ideas, the judges announced Sweetbridge as the winner of the ‘Traveler Challenge’ category. Scott Nelson received the award on stage with the other winners and our fellow finalists. After collecting the award, Scott and team celebrated alongside Lufthansa, SAP and the other successful projects. As winners of this challenge, we will now continue to develop our scalable solution for multi-vendor loyalty programs and further its presence on the global stage. Excitingly, we are also set to gain a prospective pilot project with the Lufthansa group. Sweetcoin, our discount token, has been engineered for enabling this volume of users — passengers in this case — to participate in the value they create.Scott Nelson, Founder & Chairman of Sweetbridge said: “We are thrilled to have won this major accolade, and that too with two companies we hugely admire and respect, SAP & Lufthansa. Reaching an audience of this magnitude is a huge win for our organisation at this stage, and we truly feel it underlines the seismic potential of the Sweetbridge network and its ability to align the interests of both buyer and seller like never before. We can’t wait to build a better way for airlines and customers alike.”Read Lufthansa’s full press release and see who the other winners were here.Want to know more about Sweetbridge?Sweetbridge is an open-source project unlocking the value trapped in assets, payment delays, and corporate talent.
