Satoshi Nakamoto’s idea turns ten — A future of possibilitiesThis week the blockchain turns ten! The whitepaper that started it all was first published by Satoshi Nakamoto ten years ago on October 31st.When I first heard the words blockchain and Bitcoin, I had no idea that my path would shortly lead me to found my own blockchain based company. In fact, I first heard about it through my son-in-law, who asked for my opinion on whether or not he should invest in Bitcoin. That was in 2008 and I told him “No, it’s a fad. It won’t stick around.” Little did I know! It wasn’t until I really took the time to read Satoshi Nakamoto’s whitepaper a few years ago that I realized the vast implications this technology could have on the world. I saw rather quickly that it was the solution to a problem I’d been trying to solve for nearly 20 years. It was revolutionary. This technology had the potential to change the world in so many different ways! Before founding Sweetbridge I was the founder and CEO of a successful supply chain logistics tech company. I had spent most of my career examining supply chains and thinking about how to make them more profitable and efficient. Blockchain opened doors to solutions for supply chains that had previously been impossible. But, it did more than that. It provided opportunities for increased profitability and efficiency at the bottom of the supply chain in a way that nothing else had. It provided a means to produce a rising tide that truly raises all ships — from the top of the supply chain all the way to the bottom. This new technology could do more than create a cryptocurrency that rewarded back room hackers. It could create an entirely new financial system, and economic model, one that would align the interests of all parties and solve countless problems that I had constantly run up against in my work with the world’s largest supply chains. The possibilities are so exciting. On this historic day in blockchain history, I wanted to recognize Satoshi Nakamoto’s contribution to the world. What an amazing invention! His idea sparked an idea for me which I will be forever grateful. It inspired me to create a company that can solve real-world problems in ways never imagined before. I am so excited for the future this technology holds for Sweetbridge and for the world. Thank you, Satoshi, whoever and wherever you are!… Scott Nelson, CEO and Chairman, SweetbridgeAbout SweetbridgeThe Sweetbridge network is set up to fuse the power of blockchain technology with real-world value transfer to unlock significant GDP growth.
