Sweetbridge: Product update: Progressing from Alpha into Beta

  • Monday, 17 September 2018 10:31
It has been more than two months since we have released our Wallet Alpha (we started it on June 18th), and happily, we can summarize it as a successful test of the product. We managed to exceed all of our expectations. We had more than 130 active users who tested the wallet in more than 640 sessions, testing every piece of it from setting up a Sweetbridge wallet to adding an external wallet, to reviewing their past transactions on the transaction history modal. Thanks to you we created, fixed and improved more than 75 features during this time and also created a backlog of new ones that we’re already working on.We always welcome your feedback, whether that’s constructive comments or your words of appreciation; as a product team, it was great to hear your overwhelmingly positive thoughts and interest on the Alpha. Thank you for taking the time. On this basis, we decided to expand our testing beyond just our wallet and integrate in (1) the sign-up process (our KYC/ AML component), and (2) the ability to buy SWC directly from your wallet. We’d like to get your feedback on these components too since we plan to release them to production in a very short time-frame with and defined our members’ experience as a high priority for our release. This Beta and your feedback will determine when and what will be released into production. As a result, the forthcoming Beta will give you the opportunity to experience and feedback on the current Sweetbridge product suite from end-to-end.Participating in the BetaWe’ll send invites to everyone who was part of the Alpha with detailed instructions on how to log in and what exactly to test (similar to the Alpha process). In case you were not part of the Alpha, please sign up to become a Beta tester here.Get rewards in the new bug bounty programIn parallel to launching our Beta, we’re starting a bug bounty program — this is where you can receive recognition and compensation for reporting bugs. Beyond the security audits we’ve already been through, this is part of our efforts to further validate our products; in this campaign, we want to verify that your assets will be secured within the Sweetbridge product suite and that all of its functionality behaves as expected. If you are interested in learning more about our bug bounty program please review this blog post.New FeaturesDuring the beta, we’ll continue to fix any of the existing bugs you’ve mentioned to us in the past, and in parallel, we’ve defined several new features that we’re excited about — they’ll be released either during the beta or shortly after its release to production:Two Factor Authentication (2FA) support. As part of our efforts to enhance our membership sign-in process, we are working on supporting it with a 2-factor authentication capabilities. We believe this feature will be supported in less than 2 monthsLedger integrationBased on your feedback, the ability to integrate the Sweetbridge wallet with a hardware wallet is a key factor for the community. Based on a community survey we ran during the Alpha, Ledger is the brand that we should support first (we plan to support TRezor in the future as well). We’re already working on this feature and will have it integrated prior to the release into production.Enhancing the transaction history panel The Sweetbridge accounting infrastructure is deeply integrated into every aspect of the product suite. The key-member facing components of that infrastructure are the financial statements panel and transaction history modal. To improve these further, we decided to enhance them with additional functionality such as connections between transactions; add and edit functionalities; link these transactions to blockchain explorers; add additional filters; define transaction classifications. Overall we want to allow deeper dives into the financial information on each financial statement with some visualization tools. We’re actively working on these, and will release them to the Beta (in the next couple of weeks)Once again, thank you all for your great support, excitement and amazing feedback for the Sweetbridge Wallet Alpha in the past couple of months. It’s only together that we’ll be able to create a better way! Not yet got your hands on Sweetbridge’s product suite Beta? Sign up to become a Beta tester here.
