cryptodaily.co.uk: Porsche Auctioning Exclusive Design Sketch As NFT

  • Tuesday, 03 August 2021 04:13
Porsche is giving its fans and customers a unique opportunity between 2nd August and 6th August to purchase an exclusive design sketch by Director Exterior Design. Fans will be able to purchase the design at auction through the US platform, SuperRare.  A Unique Sketch  The unique sketch will be made available as both a physical asset and a digital asset, with all the proceeds raised from the auction will be donated to Viva Con Agua, a non-profit organization.  This is Porsche’s first NFT, and the sports car manufacturer is being supported by its subsidiary Porsche Digital and technology start-up Fanzone, an NFT platform for trading cards.  Considerable Excitement At Porsche  The NFT auction marks a new direction for the German Sports Car manufacturer and has understandably generated considerable excitement. CEO of Porsche Deutschland, Alexander Pollich stated,  “With the NFT initiative, we are once again demonstrating the pioneering spirit typical of Porsche, with which we are always boldly entering new terrain. With NFTs, we are addressing existing Porsche customers, who are often passionate collectors, as well as new, younger target groups with a high affinity for digital trends. What is also especially pleasing for me is the fact that the initiative for the project was developed in our internal innovation process and implemented within a few months.”  The Director Exterior Design at Porsche, Peter Varga, also commented,  “Drawing a design sketch which is then traded online as a digital object was a completely new experience for me. “The sketch combines the Taycan Cross Turismo with the 911. It links the design language of our iconic sports car with that of the youngest member of the model range. I look forward to seeing the response generated by this unique item among the auction participants.” A Platform For Trading Cards  Porsche is collaborating with Fanzone, which was founded by Forward31, a business unit of Porsche GmBh. The start-up was set up in 2021 and currently operates an online platform that allows fans to collect or exchange digital player cards in the form of NFTs. Fans can also benefit from an increase in the valuation of their NFT. Fanzone is using blockchain technology to ensure that the rarity of collectible items is always maintained.  Viva Con Agua  Founded in Hamburg in 2006, Viva con Agua is a non-profit organization committed to providing people with access to sanitation, good hygiene, and clean drinking water. The organization is a supporter of projects around the world, particularly in Uganda and South Africa. Disclaimer: This article is provided for informational purposes only.
