Mark Berger Will Leave SEC in January? Berger was acting director when the commission filed a lawsuit against Ripple. He replaced Stephanie Avakyan in this post Mark Berger has been moving up the corporate ladder since the end of 2017. He dealt with the Telegram ICO issue, and at the end of 2020 filed a lawsuit against Ripple Labs. According to the SEC, Berger's tenure coincided with "significant aid" to victims of cryptocurrency fraud.
