Marc De Mesel: Obyte Update 2019
Obyte, recently rebranded from Byteball, did not perform well in market cap ranking past 2 years, being today at 145th place, coming form 40th early 2017. Still the project has, under the leadership of founder Tony, continued to develop and market itself and is cheaply priced today at $30M for all bytes and especially blackbytes, the privacy coin of Obyte, valued at only $2M. Blackbytes do stand out as an interesting alternative to privacy coins like Monero and Zcash as it achieves privacy in a very different way and therefore has different qualities and vulnerabilities that might cause it to find a use case. I don't recommend investing in smaller coins during bear market or early bull market, but since liquidity is so low and it can take long before you can build a position, I make an exception for blackbytes. You can buy them via the decentralised blackbyte exchange Freebe, that I recently invested in: http://freebe.byte-ball.com/
