Failed to lock in profits on high early 2021, my crypto and airline stocks came down hard, my oil tankers did barely anything and my short on gold failed as a hedge as gold failed to go down, and so I lost again 80% of my portfolio value, like happened in 2018. Then I pledged never to HODL again, today I pledge never to allow an exposure to go too far away from my target exposure again. This will reduce returns but also reduce volatility and stress. Overall I am still ok at 30% CAGR since 2008 but the volatility in how I achieved this is way too high, and the work it needed as well.
