CoinDesk: Is Quantum Computing a Threat to Blockchains?

  • Friday, 27 May 2022 12:48
"Money Reimagined" dives into the question of quantum computing and its impact on blockchains as both innovations rapidly advance. Joining hosts Michael Casey and Sheila Warren in Davis, Switzerland, at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting, is Jack Hidary of SandboxAQ, an enterprise company focused on quantum computing and artificial intelligence. According to Hidary, the ability for quantum computers to process massive amounts of data, together with blockchain-based verification systems will be enormously beneficial for society, but blockchains will need to upgrade or risk becoming obsolete. CoinDesk's "Money Reimagined," a newsletter and podcast series, expands into television with the same critical look at the issues and people that are shaping the future of money and economics. The TV series builds on the success of the weekly podcast hosted by CoinDesk's Chief Content Officer Michael Casey and the World Economic Forum's Sheila Warren.
