Today we cover Monday's announcement that the Federal Reserve has plans to develop a new product that will offer real-time payment settlements 24/7 for US citizens. This is in my opinion largely due to Facebook's Libra ushering in an increasing scrutiny on the potential utility for digital assets. This is not decentralized, nor using blockchain technology. As I learn more about their plans I'll continue to dive into this topic, but as of right now it's scheduled for 2024. By that time I hope widespread cryptocurrency adoption will have taken place and the PEOPLE (YOU and I) will demand for a decentralized framework. The stage is being set for not only a currency war but the future potential of blockchain technology. Interest rates being cut in the US, China further de-valuing the Chinese Yuan... the list goes on. Bitcoin (BTC) is about to re-test $14,000 and the proverbial feces is about to hit the fan.
