aantonop: How I Built My Home Studio Featured

  • Wednesday, 12 August 2020 00:15
My move to undisclosed location #3 required setting up my studio from scratch - again. But this time I decided to record it so you could see what gear I'm using and how it all works together. TBH it was much more fun recording it for you than it usually is just putting it together on my own. 0:03 Undisclosed location number 3 (Grandma's bedroom) 0:47 Getting the furniture out 1:00 Respecting other people's property 1:34 Bye-bye beds 2:34 Using rubbish bags for light control 3:24 Using mattresses for sound control 4:55 Cleaning!!! 5:22 It's a perfect fit (oddly satisfying) 5:53 Hanging the green screen 6:33 Smoothing the green screen 7:36 Avoiding shadows 8:06 Avoiding echos, absorbing sound 10:57 Video camera specs 11:27 Setting up the video camera 11:37 Ring light (also called a beauty light) 12:52 Leveling the camera 13:44 SOOOO many cables 13:58 Setting up the backdrop and frame 14:53 Hanging the black background with clamps - CLAMPS!!! 16:15 Lights 16:31 Softbox lighting kit 18:58 Building the overhead light 19:44 Counterweight (to nutella or not to nutella...) 21:13 Light setup complete 21:33 Table and chair 21:44 Complete room and lighting setup 22:05 Studio vs camera view 22:49 Thank you community builders 23:13 Day 2 studio setup 24:23 Gaming laptop - MSI SteelSeries 25:12 Lavalier microphones - Sennheiser ME4 | Rode Smartlav+ 25:38 Shotgun microphone - Rode Videomic 25:51 Condenser microphone - Samson Meteor 26:08 Wireless transmitter/receiver - Rodelink Tx-Rx 26:40 Wireless transmitter/receiver new models - Rode Wireless Go 27:33 Belt or waistband recorder - Zoom F1 Field Recorder 28:45 2-channel audio mixer - Focusrite Scarlett Solo (3rd Gen) 30:10 Recording process 30:25 Digital card - Elgato HD60S 31:30 Control keyboard - Elgato StreamDeck 33:28 USB hub 33:56 Final setup 34:43 Additional equipment - LED lights This is the latest studio setup I've been using to record all of my bitcoin and open blockchain videos, interviews, podcasts, and more. It's been a labor of love and I've tried lots of different gear but what I'm using now seems to work well for me. I'd like to say a special thanks to my audio engineer, Dimitris, who helps me configure the audio settings after each move so that we can get the best sound possible.
