WallStForMainSt: Food Prices In China Hit 7 Year High According to China's Own Data
China's National Bureau of Statistics released food price data last week and it shows that the price of many food items is up significantly since last July.
Despite its vast size, China is land poor — with only 20 acres of arable land per 100 people — according to the World Bank so China's imports of raw agricultural products is up about 6 fold since the year 2000.
