The European Commision Blockchain
On 10th of April 22 countries signed declaration for European blockchain partnership
During speech, the EC Vice President called on Europe to become a leader in digital technologies by working on Blockchain innovation as well as artificial intelligence (AI) development.
The press release notes that the EC has invested more than 80 mln euros (around $98 mln) in Blockchain-related projects, with around 300 mln euros (around $371 mln) to be alloted for Blockchain development by 2020.
This is great news for European blockchain and cryptocurrency projects.
Bittrex opening registrations
On 10th of April Bittrex exchange annouced that it will be opening registrations and launching its new enhanced website. In addition, Bittrex will support corporate accounts and acceptnew corporate applications.
In December, Bittrex temporarily paused signups for new users to preserve the experience, stability and security of the platform for existing customers as the company worked on improving the infrastructure to efficiently manage the immense amount of interest from new users.
After re-opening the response was so overwhelming that Bittrex had to stop registrations again for a bit.
Legal Fund For BitGrail Victims
On 9th of April Nano Foundation announced legal fund for BitGrail victims
As a reminder the exchange Bitgrail annouced on 9th of February that it was hacked and lost 17 million of the cryptocurrency NANO (XRB) which was worth around $170 million USD at the time.
Nano Foundation is working with Espen Enger, a representative of over 1400 and the Italian law firm Bonelli Erede to support the victims by offering legal help.
The ultimate goal is to establish a total legal fund worth $2 million. I feel that this is bullish for Nano in general because it proves that the developers are professional and care about the Nano users.
Request Network and Digix partnership
On 10th of April Request Network has annouced a partnership with Digix an asset tokenisation company that aims to bring real gold onto the Ethereum blockchain in a fully transparent and secure manner.
Due to this partnership the gold-backed Digix gold (DGX) tokens available as an option for invoicing on the Request Network. DGX tokens are backed by 99.99% gold cast bars from London Bullion Market Association (LBMA)-approved refiners on a 1:1 basis.
This allows anyone in the world to digitally send and receive invoices which can be paid with gold. This is another bullish sign for Request but even better sign for Digix.
Bitfinex annouced more tokens added
On 7th of April the exchange Bitfinex has announced the introduction of 12 new token listings to its trading platform.
The new tokens available for trade on Bitfinex are as follows:
