Celeste Holm and her son Ted had 75 years of rocky relations. She deserted him when he was six months old, to pursue her acting career, so he was raised by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodor Holm. Celeste and Ted had on-and-off good years, including his last two years of high school. But after college things went bad again, repeatedly. Celeste and Ted were brought together in 1996 by Marlene Mallicoat-- Celeste did not understand why Ted had been angry that time, it was never explained but put aside. Here, for a brief moment in 1996, with her wonderful fourth husband Wesley, Celeste welcomes us into the apartment where Ted had lived briefly in high school. We see wonderful paintings and drawings by Jean Parke Holm, who raised both Celeste and Ted. Those pictures have subsequently been lost. The visitors are Ted Nelson, Marlene Mallicoat (who later married Ted) and Deborah Stone, Ted's previous wife. Needless to say, things would go bitterly wrong again, later. Fourth husband Wesley died and all went bad.
