One Minute Economics: China Before Mao Zedong and Communism* (Marxism-Leninism) in One Minute: History, Politics & Economy

This is the first video out of 3 about... you've guessed it, China :) More specifically, I've analyzed not just China's economy but also the historic/political dimension in one minute. The data I've used takes us back roughly 2,000 years, I kid you not! Perhaps the most interesting thing you'll notice is that China + India accounted for over half of the world's GDP for most of the past 2,000 years. The common theme when it comes to China's history before Mao and communism (actually, socialism according to what Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels would say, with Marxism-Leninism being the first ideology of the Communist Party of China) is that... well, they didn't care about other countries all that much. Before Mao and communism (and, frankly, until toward the end of Mao's life), China basically considered other people "barbarians" and never thought it had all that much to gain from international trade. As such, the status quo was considering China the only country that mattered, a fairly non-interventionist domination of its neighbors and keeping "barbarians" at bay through complex diplomacy. This kinda-sorta worked... until it didn't, as you'll find out by watching this video (which, again, covers China's economic history before communism and Mao Zedong) :) To support the channel, give me a minute (see what I did there?) of your time by visiting OneMinuteEconomics.com and reading my message.
