The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission says it needs more time and will wait until the end of September before revealing its decision on the listing and trading of a Bitcoin ETF. Bitcoin performed pretty well at the end of July when we saw it climb past $8,300, ahead of the Winklevoss ETF decision. The price suffered a hit when it was rejected we saw bitcoin start a downward trend once again. According to coinmarketcap.com, today we saw Bitcoin fall below $6,700 after news that the decision was postponed. Most of the other cryptocurrencies are also in the red today. Now let’s take a look at what else is happening in the crypto world. Criminal activity is one big concern that many people have regarding the crypto space. DEA special agent who is part of the Cyber Investigative Task Force told Bloomberg that five years ago “criminal activity was behind about 90 percent of cryptocurrency transactions”. This has dropped to around 10% as speculators now dominate the crypto world. Please remember this is news, not investment advice.
