The 1st prize winner of #BEF Hackathon is an all-female team, and the 2nd place goes to an all-male and all-developer team, whose project is called Chaincert. The problem Chaincert is trying to solve is authentication of what credentials of the employees, especially developers, when they said they have certain certifications or degrees. Searching an employee that has a formal credential, like their degrees or certifications from different training courses or bootcamps, this kind of information sometimes get modified by different groups or hackers. But if we put this information into blockchain, it’s literally un-hackable. Chaincert is a team with 4 male developers in Silicon Valley, that’s how they saw the problem and trying to solve it with Blockchain technology. It will benefit the hiring company a lot, as well as the developers who are doing job hunting. Chaincert is going to involve the institutions and companies get the right people to work with. Chaincert is the process to use blockchain to authenticate any certification. They uses the IBM hyperledger fabric to set up the project.
