  • Monday, 26 July 2021 16:00
The amount of bitcoin in the Lightning Network now exceeds 2,000, up from about 1,000 BTC at the start of 2021. Lightning Network is a "layer 2" protocol layered on top of the Bitcoin blockchain to enable fast transactions and turn bitcoin into a more viable form of payment. On the occasion of the 2,000 BTC milestone, "Community Crypto" host Isaiah Jackson reviews the purpose and the progress of Lighting Network with Lightning Labs Co-founder and CTO Olaoluwa Osuntokun (aka "Roasbeef"). "Bitcoin and Black America" author Isaiah Jackson explores how crypto is creating and impacting communities. Jackson organizes virtual meetups in the U.S. and around the world, then dives deeper into key themes, issues or questions that arise in "Community Crypto."
