Today Bitcoin experienced some gains, climbing past $5,900, but later we saw it drop below this level again as it was unable to break past $6,000. We saw Bitcoin start on an upward trend at the end of April and it has been looking pretty positive over the past few days. This day last year Bitcoin was over $9,300. We later saw it tumble below $6,000 towards the end of June 2018. Ether gained more than 10% over the past 24 hours. There are rumours circulating around this week that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission are open to the idea of approving ethereum futures contracts. These rumours seemed to push up the price of ether today as we saw it surpass $178, before dropping lower again. This day last year it was over $740. Earlier today we saw Cosmos Atom, which is a new cryptocurrency that officially launched in March gain more than 7%. Today cryptocurrency trading platform Binance opened trading for ATOM/USDC, ATOM/PAX and ATOM/TUSD trading pairs. Cosmos experienced gains earlier today, before falling into the red experiencing some small losses. Cosmos is in 15th place in terms of marketcap.
