Crypto News: Samsung, Nasdaq, Basic Attention Token and Brave, Wirex, IOTA, Vechain, Ethereum Samsung and cryptocurrency Samsung’s has unveiled their flagship phone, the Galaxy S10, reveals new details of the device’s upcoming crypto features. The functions are divided into three main ones: payments to merchants, digital signatures and crypto storage and transfers. According to the app’s terms and conditions, the Blockchain Keystore generates and stores a private key based on blockchain technology in a secure enclave built into the device. It can securely sign and store cryptocurrency transactions using blockchain. Nasdaq BTC and ETH Nasdaq has partnered with New Zealand based Blockchain data firm Brave New Coin to add Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) indexes to its family of 40,000 indexes. Nasdaq, which is the second largest stock exchange in the world announced on its website that it is offering two Cryptocurrency based indexes on its Global Data Index Data ServiceSM (GIDS). The two indexes include Bitcoin Liquid Index (BLX) and the Ethereum Liquid Index (ELX) which will offer real-time spot or reference rate (quoted in USD) for the price of 1 BTC and 1 ETH respectively. Nasdaq is not new to cryptocurrency since it is already working with cryptocurrency exchanges and it also has acquired Swedish Crypto-friendly exchange Cinnober last year and has invested in Crypto exchange ErisX and Enterprise Blockchain firm Symbiont. While this news might not be huge it is good to see that they are looking into cryptocurrency. BAT partnership with TAP Network Brave Software has annouced partnership with TAP Network, the advertising and data network that connects brands to reward consumers directly using blockchain. The partnership will allow Brave users to redeem Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for real-world rewards offered by over 250k brand partners in the TAP Network. As an opt-in option to the browsing experience, Brave’s existing desktop users can choose to view exclusive offers and ads from top brand advertisers to earn BAT. In turn, brand advertisers through the TAP Network will have the opportunity to reach a guaranteed engaged audience that has opted-in to viewing advertisements. This is the first step towards adoption of BAT and while it is still super early the idea is brilliant - watch ads, get tokens and then use tokens to get free stuff similar to the things on the ad. This is also good for advertisers because people can buy more stuff if they are happy with free sample. Wirex 3.0 released Wirex is a debit card that allows users to interact with both fiat and digital money. Recently it had a major release of 3.0 where several things has been updated in the platform including the actual design of the interface. IOTA project update IOTA has announced the launch of znet, the first iteration of the Coordinator-less testnet. Its purpose is to provide a testbed for running a Coordinator-less IOTA network. Usage of coordinator ran by IOTA was basically necessary for the network in order to approve transactions but because of that IOTA couldn't be considered decentralised. IOTA has also announced a Smart City Development Competition with Groupe Renault (180k employees+), ENGIE Lab CRIGEN (R&D and expertise centre, 200 employees), VEOLIA Birdz (water management, waste management, transport and energy service, 300k+ employees), Sopra Steria (information technology consultancy , 44k employees), and Supporting Organizations The competition is divided into Smart Mobility, Buildings, Energy and Districts and fit use cases for IOTA completly. Vechain updates VeChain has announced that they are launching an integrated one-click solution into AWS (Amazon web services) The solution combines NFC+RFID chips, blockchain encryption, identity verification technology, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, and traditional enterprise IT services to provide a comprehensive IT solution utilizing blockchain technology. Notable users of the pre-existing services including BMW, BYD Auto (Chinese automobile manufacturer), BrightFood ( multinational food and beverages manufacturing company), DB Schenker (division of the German rail operator Deutsche Bahn AG that focuses on logistics.), and D.I.G. With this one-click solution, VeChain’s BaaS solution will use AWS CloudFormation to enable their customers to deploy in one click, In addition Vechain has expended the team so overall very good progress for the Vechain project.
