The wider society still has no clue crypto based assets exist, nor are they aware of the benefits of decentralization. Utility and usability is a big issue, almost like the elephant in the room. While you hear of crypto day traders who are profitable, and they certainly do exist; it's a bit of a misnomer for people without experience in traded markets or day trading can experience success if they study hard enough. These things take time. So will the tech of blockchain and the store of value potential of bitcoin. Blockchain SHOULD be the future, but at this point it's merely speculative. It makes sense to everyone involved and most people who learn about it; but it will take a lot of time for this space to continuously grow (which it has been), but rocket-style moonlandings of 2017 aren't going to happen annually. This asset class is growing rapidly and the complicated development of applications that work and are easy to use is well under way.
