PRC to conduct another digital yuan test ? The pilot project will be carried out from April 12 to 25 in partnership between the Hainan Commercial Bank branch and the People's Bank of China branch located in Haikou County, as well as the Sansha City Department. One of the key points featured in the project is Yongxing Island on the territory of the previously mentioned Sansha. All test takers will receive a discount of 99 yuan, or 15 for every hundred yuan spent on the island. The promotion applies to hotels, restaurants and large grocery stores. Testing in Hainan province is the next step in testing the viability of the digital yuan. Prior to that, it was tested in Shanghai and Changsha City, Hunan Province. The next cities in which they intend to conduct a pilot project of the Chinese cryptocurrency in the coming months will be Xi'an, Qingdao, and Dalian. The PRC government reports that there will be more such cities soon, as the development of the digital yuan began 6 years ago and has moved into an active phase of checks in recent years.
