Coinbase has said that the EOS network is experiencing some issues has been experiencing them over the past few days/week. “EOS network has degraded performance. Sends and receives might be delayed.”  One of the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, Coinbase has said that the EOS network is experiencing some issues has been experiencing them over the past few days/week. The platform posted to statement on the 20th of February stating: “EOS network has degraded performance. Sends and receives might be delayed.”  It was posted just two days later saying that the network was still suffering from its lack of performance and that all external EOS tokens have since been disabled - but only temporarily. However, buying and selling the token within the platform is still running as normal though. One block producer on EOS, EOS Nation responded on the 22nd, saying that despite the issues on the network with many so-called ‘micro forks’ on the 20th, the mainnet was extremely reliable. He added a chart into the tweet which showed a slight nudge on the 20th, where 192 blocks have been missed because of the forking issue on the network, however, he added that a steady mainnet performance was occurring over the past fortnight. Hi @CoinbaseSupport! Although the network did experience some microforks on the 20th of February, the EOS Mainnet is currently extremely reliable. If you are still experiencing problems, feel free to reach out as we would be happy to help troubleshoot the issues with you. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/4IkwFZLDdw — EOS Nation (@EOS_Nation) February 22, 2020 There have been several issues on the network in the past though. This isn’t the first time that EOS has experienced such problems. In fact, at the end of last month, it missed an average of 20,000 blocks on a daily basis. It was reported in October last year, research states that the EOS could experience congestion hacks which could end up freezing the network completely. It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
